Elizabeth Rouse, Pro Rector, University of the Arts London
Elizabeth Rouse joined the London College of Fashion as Lecturer in the Sociology of Fashion. She was appointed as Dean of Academic Development and Quality Assurance in 1996. She has extensive experience of curriculum development and quality assurance in the field of art and design. She has acted as an advisor and consultant to universities both nationally and internationally on course development and quality assurance matters and as well as serving on numerous validation panels. She has advised the Quality Assurance Agency on the development of qualification benchmarks and she prepared, on behalf of the University, the successful submission to the Privy Council for the award of University Title. On April 1 2005 she was appointed Pro Rector for Academic Development and Quality.
1st Key Speaker - Bill Rammell MP, Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education
Bill Rammell was first elected to the Commons in 1997, and sat on both the European Legislation and Scrutiny committees. He joined the government in 2001 as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Tessa Jowell, before moving on to the Whips Office. In the October 2002 reshuffle he was promoted to Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign Office. Further details can be found at the Department for Education and Skills website.

2nd Key Speaker - Professor Judith Mottram
Judith Mottram is Professor of Visual Art at Nottingham Trent University. She is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, Art & Design & Built Environment. Before joining Nottingham Trent she was Director of Research for the School of Art & Design at Loughborough University, from 2000 to 2003, following six years as their Programme Leader for Painting. She is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Visual Art Practice, a member of the AHRB Peer Review College, and a member of the AHRB Postgraduate Panel for Visual Arts and Media.
